The Mountain Sky Guest Ranch located in Emigrant, Park County, Montana sits on over 17,000 operational acres of unspoiled wilderness in the heart of Yellowstone Country. The property begins near the Yellowstone River on the floor of the aptly-named Paradise Valley and continues upward through grass-covered foothills, meadows filled with sagebrush, thick pine forests, and stands of aspen until you reach the vast Gallatin National Forest at the back door. The trout-filled, rushing waters of Big Creek flow 4.5 miles through the entire property. During your vacation stay, you’ll enjoy a dinner ride with barbecue cooked over the grill at the lower ranch pavilion, or savor a delicious gourmet dinner in the dining room. You might sing your favorite western songs on the hors d’oeuvres hayride or around the campfire. Top off the evening with a nightcap in the cozy saloon, or unwind with a late-night soak in the hot tub.
While many of the guest cabins date back to the ranch’s beginnings in the 1920s, all have been carefully restored and refurbished to provide luxurious comfort amidst rustic surroundings. Each cabin building is unique, and they have a combination of one, two, and three-bedroom units available. Choose from cabins with stone fireplaces, picture windows with breathtaking views, or the sounds of a meandering stream outside the window.
Big Horn is a modern three-bedroom cabin with a king-sized bed in one bedroom, two twin-sized beds in the second bedroom, a queen-sized bed in the third bedroom, and two bathrooms. The separate living room has a pull-out sofa bed and a stone fireplace. Breakfast and lunch buffets are sumptuous spreads providing a variety of options for every taste, while dinners are gourmet three to five-course plated affairs. Beef tenderloin, Chilean sea bass, and truffled Portabella pasta are just a few examples of the evening entrees, and they are happy to accommodate any special dietary needs.
You can enjoy a crisp morning hike, energize your body with a yoga session, or watch the wranglers herd the horses down the mountainside. After a bountiful breakfast buffet, ride on horseback through acres of flower-filled meadows or stroll along beautiful Big Creek. The afternoon brings rafting down the Yellowstone River or trying your hand at mountain stream fly fishing. In addition to scheduled massages and yoga classes, the Mountain Sky Wellness Center features a heated outdoor pool, cedar sauna, steam room, outdoor hot tub, and grotto for you to indulge. Start your day with an energizing yoga session, pamper yourself with a healing massage after a brisk hike, or just let the warm water of the grotto wash away the rigors of the day.
Mountain Sky Guest Ranch is set in the spectacular Paradise Valley, only 30 miles from Yellowstone National Park. In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the location naturally creates an unforgettable vacation spot for travelers of all ages and interests. To experience the magnificence of nature, a tour of the Park is highly recommended. At the Park, you can spend a day discovering the hot springs, looking for bears and wolves in the Lamar Valley, or relaxing in the boiling river.
