Play a round of golf at the Laurel Valley Golf Course or ride the Tail of the Dragon with its 318 turns in just 11 miles away.

Rush hour in Townsend means innertubes getting stuck on the Little River. During your vacation stay, you might explore the Tuckaleechee Caverns. A local newspaper editor once called Tuckaleechee Caverns the Greatest Sight Under the Smokies. The privately-owned attraction is run by the second generation of the family who opened it in the 1950s. Today, it’s one of the best caverns open to the public in Tennessee and a must-see attraction in the Great Smoky Mountains. Guided tours take about an hour to explore the 1.25-mile out-and-back route through the caverns.
